State Route 4 - Ramp & Lane Closures
San Joaquin County- The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform various closures on State Route 4 (SR-4)/Crosstown Freeway for maintenance and construction operations. Work will occur as follows:

Long-term, one-way traffic control from Roberts Island Road to Cordes Ranch Road for Garwood (San Joaquin River) Bridge repairs beginning Monday, July 22, through September 30, 2024. Motorists should expect 10-minute delays and seek alternate routes to avoid delays.

Overnight, full on-ramp closures at Center Street, El Dorado Street, Stanislaus Street, Wilson Way and Filbert Street for K-rail installation and bridge work beginning Sunday, September 29, through Friday, October 5, 2024, from 8:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. (eastbound) and 7:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. (westbound.)

Overnight, full on and off-ramp closures at Hammer Lane, Eight Mile Road, SR-12 (Flag City), Turner Road, Peltier Road, and Walnut Grove/Thornton Road for construction beginning Sunday, September 29, through Friday, October 4, 2024, from 9:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. (northbound) and from 9:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. (southbound).
The above listed lane and ramp closures on I-5 between Hammer Lane and the San Joaquin/Sacramento County line are required as part of the I-5 Anchor Pavement Project that will improve 34 miles of existing pavement and shoulders from Hammer Lane in Stockton to the San Joaquin/Sacramento County line. The project will also replace on- and off-ramps with upgraded concrete at Eight Mile Road, State Route 12, Turner Road, Peltier Road, and Thornton Road/Walnut Grove Road.
