How Members Can Maximize Their Fall Leadership Meeting Experience

Many of NAHB's long-time members will attest to the benefits of attending the association's leadership meetings. Not only do they help shape NAHB's policies and initiatives on key industry issues, they also have the opportunity to network with their peers and develop connections to enhance their business.

Newer members and first-time attendees might not yet realize the value of these meetings, which are held three times each year in the spring, fall and at the International Builders' Show. So NAHB developed a learning seminar explicitly for those who want to make the most of their time.

The New Attendee Workshop is an engaging session of panel discussions and insightful presentations tailored specifically for first-time attendees of NAHB leadership meetings. It is also a valuable learning opportunity for young professionals, and new council and committee members.

Panelists of a previous New Attendee Workshop included (left to right): Eugene Graf, NAHB Immediate Past Chair Alicia Huey, NAHB Chairman Carl Harris, and Erin LeCorgne.

During this event, attendees get to hear directly from their fellow members and NAHB leaders from across the country. NAHB Senior Officers and other leaders will discuss several ways attendees can maximize their leadership meeting experience. They will also share how their NAHB leadership journeys began and how those experiences not only helped the Federation, but also benefited their businesses.

After the most recent workshop in June, many of the participants submitted their feedback in an anonymous survey: "I thought it was a great ice breaker!" said one attendee. "I think these meetings are critical," said another. And yet another survey respondent said, "This has been the most helpful thing I've attended yet."

The next New Attendee Workshop will take place Tuesday, Oct. 1, from 4-5 p.m. CT during the 2024 Fall Leadership Meeting. The session will be held in the Grand Oaks Q room of the JW Marriott San Antonio, Conference Center Level 2.

Registration for the workshop is not required. Contact Rachel Branson with any questions.
