Stefanik Secures Major Disaster Declaration Request Following Tropical Storm Debby in North Country Counties and the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe

Washington, D.C. -Congresswoman Elise Stefanik released the following statement following the State of New York receiving federal funds to help communities recover from Tropical Storm Debby which occurred August 8-10, 2024.

"I am proud to announce that following my advocacy, New York State will receive federal funds to help our communities recover from the severe damage caused by Tropical Storm Debby. My office and I will continue to deliver resources and support to our impacted communities," said Congresswoman Elise Stefanik.

In September, Congresswoman Elise Stefanik sent aletterto the Biden-Harris Administration urging the administration to support New York State's disaster declaration request following damage caused in Essex, Franklin, Jefferson, and St. Lawrence Counties during Tropical Storm Debby on August 8-10th.

Stefanik previously sent a letterto the Biden-Harris Administration supporting an emergency declaration request for the damage Tropical Storm Debby inflicted on the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe's homes and businesses.<_o3a_p>
