Nome Coastal Clean-Up

Join Us for the Nome Coastal Clean-Up!

Sitnasuak Native Corporation (SNC) and Bering Straits Native Corporation (BSNC) are partnering to host a coastal clean-up event in Nome on August 16 & 17. We invite SNC and BSNC campsite/homesite permit and lessee holders, as well as Shareholders, to help us with this effort.

Those who wish to dispose of trash or debris from their campsite or homesite can do so by placing discarded materials near the closest roadway or highway in a safe and organized manner. Please ensure that materials do not block or impede traffic. We will do the rest!

Areas of Assistance: Currently, we are only able to assist in the areas along the Nome/Council Highway up to Mile 20.5, including:

  • Fort Davis
  • East Fort Davis (mile 5)
  • Derby Creek Area
  • Hastings / Alma Gulch / Golden Gate
  • East Cape Nome
  • Nook

Special Assistance Requests: Shareholders who require assistance with the removal of debris that cannot be discarded by hand should contact the SNC Land Department directly at (907) 387-1240 or [email protected]. We will do our best to accommodate any requests. Please note that assistance with removing broken-down motor vehicles will require written authorization from the owner.

Please join us in cleaning up the land. Quyaana!
