Rosen Honored by Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority for Efforts to Support Airports, Tourism, and Public Safety

RENO, NV - Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) was awarded an Outstanding Service Award by the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority's Board of Trustees Chair for her efforts on behalf of airports, tourism, and public safety that have benefitted the Reno-Tahoe International Airport. Earlier this year, she announced that she secured $7 million for Reno-Tahoe International Airport's MoreRNO Infrastructure Program from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Lawshe helped write and pass.

"Reno-Tahoe International Airport is an important gateway to northern Nevada, bringing visitors and helping boost the local economy," said Senator Rosen. "It's been my priority to support bipartisan legislation and deliver the federal funding the airport needs. I'm honored to receive this award in recognition of these efforts, and I will continue to deliver for northern Nevada's travel and tourism economy."

Senator Rosen has been a champion for Nevada's airports. As a lead author of the Airports section of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, she helped create the Airport Terminal Program to provide funding to help airports expand and rebuild their terminals. Last year, Senator Rosen introduced the bipartisan Dependable Airport Classification Act to help provide more certainty to small-to-medium-sized airports, like Reno-Tahoe International Airport, about their access to federal funding. A provision based on this legislation passed the Senate and was signed into law as part of this year's FAA reauthorization. Last year, Senator Rosen also announced that the Reno-Tahoe International Airport was set to receive more than $6.9 million in additional funding from the Airport Infrastructure Grant Program authorized by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
