Whiskeytown, CA - Whiskeytown, CA - Whiskeytown fire management staff are planning a 225-acre prescribed burn for Saturday, October 26.

This understory burn will take place between Highway 299 and Clair A. Hill Whiskeytown Dam on the east side of Kennedy Memorial Drive.

One way traffic will be in place along Kennedy Memorial Drive during the burn and will mostly occur mostly between 12pm and 6pm.

East Beach parking lot will be temporarily closed.

Please excuse the smoke as we continue the never-ending task of protecting park infrastructure and reducing the threat of unwanted fire; although the vast majority of vegetation within the national recreation area burned in 2018, plant regrowth has been immense since the megafire.
