Williston State College Student Named 2024 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar

Announcement

WILLISTON, N.D. - Williston State College is proud to announce that our student, Kylie Keller, has been selected as a 2024 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar. Keller will receive a $1,000 scholarship from the prestigious Leaders of Promise Scholarship, sponsored by the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation.

The Leaders of Promise Scholarship Program recognizes 200 Phi Theta Kappa members annually with awards totaling $200,000. This year, twenty-five of these scholarships are specifically designated for Society members who are active personnel or veterans of the U.S. Military. A panel of independent judges selected this year's recipients from nearly 1,500 applicants, considering factors such as outstanding academic achievement and demonstrated leadership potential.

"Kylie is very deserving of this award," said Dr. Katie Renville, M.ED. PsyD, Assistant Professor of Psychology and PTK Co-Advisor at Williston State College. "She has been an active member of PTK for the last year and is an asset to both PTK and Williston State College."

Kylie Keller expressed her gratitude and excitement for being chosen: "I am thankful and excited to have been selected as a 2024 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar, and to receive the scholarship that goes along with this selection. I am honored to be recognized for my leadership potential and my academic success. This means a lot to me as it shows me that my hard work is worth it. With this scholarship, I will be able to focus on my studies and further my education. I plan to graduate from Williston State College with an Associate in Arts and an Associate in Science. I plan to transfer to a four-year institution and pursue a degree in Early Childhood Education. This scholarship will help me with my education now and in the future, and for that, I am very grateful."

The Leaders of Promise Scholarship Program was launched in 2001 to assist new Phi Theta Kappa members in obtaining an associate degree and to encourage participation in Society programs. Today, the Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholarship is more relevant than ever, as our organization, colleges, and communities actively encourage the completion of a college credential, an associate degree, or a certificate among college students.

Williston State College is proud of Kylie Keller's accomplishments and looks forward to supporting her continued success and contributions to the community.
