Thanks to a commanding performance, Theo Oeverhaus secured his maiden victory in the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland at the Sachsenring. Starting from pole position, the 19-year-old from Osnabrück, Germany, who drives for the Bonk Motorsport team, pulled away from the pursuing pack by almost six seconds at times. He ultimately won the eleventh race of the one-make cup season ahead of Dutchman Huub van Eijndhoven, who drives for Uniserver by Team GP Elite. Driving the 375 kW (510 PS) Porsche 911 GT3 Cup for Proton Huber Competition, championship leader Larry ten Voorde was listed as third.

‟The race went exactly as I had planned," grinned Theo Oeverhaus, one of seven drivers from the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland Talent Pool. ‟I managed to defend the lead at the start and then I kept everything under control." With this result, he now sits just 34 points behind Harry King coming into the twelfth race of the season tomorrow (8 September 2024, starting at 11:25 am CEST). The Englishman from the Allied-Racing team finished seventh on Saturday.

Huub van Eijndhoven achieved his best result of the season so far with second place. ‟My car was perfectly set up for a fast qualifying lap," said the Dutchman, who started from second on the grid. ‟But I really had to fight in the race, it was hard work." Janne Stiak crossed the finish line in third place. However, the 17-year-old from Team75 Bernhard was subsequently disqualified: His car was found to be below the minimum weight at post-race scrutineering.

Thus, third place went to Larry ten Voorde, who extended his lead in the standings. ‟That was funny, Janne was in front of me, Flynt Schuring was behind me - two drivers I coach," chuckled the Dutchman, who clinched his third title in the international Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup last weekend.

Flynt Schuring, Larry ten Voorde's teammate at Proton Huber Competition, secured victory in the Rookie classification. ‟I had a nice duel with Harry King at the start. He dropped back due to a penalty, otherwise, I probably wouldn't have made it past him," admitted the 18-year-old Dutchman. Senna van Soelen (Target Competition) and Kas Haverkort (Uniserver by Team GP Elite) made for an all-Dutch podium for the Carrera Cup Rookies.

With an impressive tenth-place overall finish, Sören Spreng took the victory among the ProAm drivers and extended his lead in this classification. ‟I had some issues in qualifying, so I was only good for 21st place on the grid," summarised the German driver from GP Elite. ‟But the race ran perfectly. I made up eleven places - that doesn't happen every day." Michael Essmann and Kai Pfister, both from the CarTech Motorsport team, rounded out the Pro-Am podium.

As guests of the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland at the Sachsenring, the drivers from the Talent Pool of the Porsche Sports Cup Deutschland learned about the next level in Porsche's one-make cup pyramid. The five young drivers, who receive special support from Porsche Deutschland, had their Carrera Cup Talent Pool colleagues explain the procedures during a DTM race weekend and participated in a media training session.

‟The drivers and teams from the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland were very open with us. We've learnt a lot, which will certainly help us in our races," commented Luciano Scheider, who helms a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport in the Porsche Sports Cup Deutschland.
