Construction at the City of Batavia Wastewater Treatment Facility at 400 Shumway Avenue, is underway. The anticipated completion date is June 2026. Utility work along Water Street between Main Street and the dead-end south of Union Avenue has been completed. Pedestrian, bicycle, and vehicle traffic is allowed.

Fox River Trail Closures

The facility upgrade still necessitates a Fox River Trail detour around the Waste Water Treatment Plant.

Approaching from the south on the trail:

At the intersection of trail and Union Street head west to the Union and Water streets intersection, then turn north on Water Street to First Street, then east on First Street to Shumway Avenue, then head south to pick up the trail to the east.

Approaching from the north on the west side of the Fox River Trail, there are several options. Please follow the detour signs.
