PBI Continues to be Recognized as a Top U.S. Airport

West Palm Beach, Fla (July 9, 2024) - For the eighth consecutive year, Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) is ranked among the Ten Best U.S. Airports by readers of Travel + Leisure.

PBI was ranked third on the publication's list, which asked readers to consider factors such as: access, check-in/security, restaurants, shopping and design.

"This recognition is a reflection of our dedicated team's hard work and the support of our passengers," said Palm Beach County Department of Airports Director Laura Beebe. "At PBI, we strive to offer world-class services, seamless operations and a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the unique charm of our region. We continue to innovate and enhance our services to ensure that every journey through PBI is outstanding."

PBI recently experienced a record number of passengers traveling through the airport, exceeding 8 million in a 12-month period.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) recently awarded PBI a $17.2 million Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Airport Infrastructure Grant to rehabilitate and reconstruct pavement on Taxiway F, Taxiway H, and the shoulders of Runway 14/32.

A major expansion is also underway of Concourse B, which will result in two additional passenger jet bridges, a new 3,000 square foot restaurant space, new terrazzo flooring and carpeting, an elevated ceiling with glass that reduces heat and glare, an integrated nursing suite, a sensory room for travelers with autism and other sensitivities, expanded restrooms and more.

Photos of PBI and renderings of the expansion are available upon request.
