Nominations are now open for Vanderbilt's top faculty awards, which demonstrate the university's appreciation for and commitment to excellence.
All faculty are eligible to submit nominations, which are due by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11. Faculty are not eligible to be nominated for awards they have previously won. (Past winners are mentioned in this news storyand posted online.)

Alexander Heard Distinguished Service Professor Award
The Alexander Heard Distinguished Service Professor Award was created upon the retirement of Chancellor Alexander Heard in 1982. It is endowed with funds contributed by faculty, staff and others, and it is given for distinctive contributions to the understanding of problems of contemporary society.
Harvie Branscomb Distinguished Professor Award
The Harvie Branscomb Distinguished Professor Award isgiven to a full-time, regular faculty member without restriction to age, rank or school for distinguished accomplishment in furthering the aims of Vanderbilt University.
Joe B. Wyatt Distinguished University Professor Award
The Joe B. Wyatt Distinguished University Professor Award was created to honor Chancellor Joe B. Wyatt upon his retirement in 2000. The award is intended to recognize accomplishments that span multiple academic disciplines.
The Joseph A. Johnson, Jr. Distinguished Leadership Professor Award recognizes faculty leadership in equity, diversity and inclusion. It is awarded at the Spring Faculty Assembly to a full-time, regular faculty member for distinguished leadership at Vanderbilt University.
Submit nominations through the InfoReady portal. Log in using your VUnetID and password, and then select the applicable internal award(s) for which you want to submit nominations. Using the search criteria of "Spring 2025" helps in finding the awards.
Nominations will be reviewed by the Faculty Senate Consultative Committee.
The award recipients and faculty who have served for 25 years will be honored at the Spring Faculty Assembly on April 3, 2025.
