  • RSU Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs Jeana Rae Conn was among the early arrivals at Tuesday's Stomp the Stigma event.

Rogers State University hosted a come-and-go recovery awareness walk at the Claremore campus this week to reduce the stigma around those struggling with substance abuse.

Held Tuesday, Oct. 15, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., the "Stomp the Stigma" Recovery Awareness Walk allowed students, faculty, staff and community members to walk along the trail of the RSU Conservation Education Reserve, commonly known as the Nature Reserve, as an expression of compassion and understanding for those whose lives have been impacted by addiction.

Rogers State University Drug Prevention Coordinator Roxanne Bilby was among those on hand to talk to event walkers and offer resources to those in need.
