John Hunt Park facilities closed for South Star Festival

All public facilities within John Hunt Park are temporarily closed to accommodate the South Star Music Festival held Sept. 28-29 on the Festival Grounds. This includes Kids Space, the Get-A-Way Skate Park and all athletic facilities.

Facilities on the south side of the park, including the sand volleyball courts, cross-country course and Huntsville Tennis Center, should reopen to the public on Monday. The timing for the reopening of north side amenities is dependent on the breakdown of the festival site, which might not be completed until Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. Huntsville Parks & Recreation will not reopen facilities until it is safe to do so.

The Huntsville Ice Sports Center is open today and Friday. Due to the festival setup, patrons must park at Joe Davis Stadium and enter through the north doors. The facility will be closed Saturday and Sunday.
