Rep. Cline Hosts Annual Farm Tour Across Virginia’s Sixth District

Last week, Congressman Ben Cline hosted his two-day annual Farm Tour, visiting different farms on Wednesday across the southern part of Virginia's Sixth Congressional District and visiting various agriculture facilities on Friday across the northern part of Virginia's Sixth Congressional District.

On the first day, Rep. Ben Cline began his tour with a visit to Delta Springs Farm in Mount Solon and then a visit to Harmony Harvest Farm in Weyers Cave. He concluded the first day of the tour with a visit to McNett Farm in Crimora.

Congressman Cline kicked off his last day of the Farm Tour on Friday, stopping in Winchester to visit Virginia Tech's Alson H. Smith Jr. Agriculture Research and Extension Center and Glaize Apples. Lastly, he visited Stephens City to stop by Gore's Stephens City Meats.

Every year, Congressman Cline hosts a Farm Tour, visiting several farms and agriculture facilities in the Sixth District to meet with Valley farmers and those in the agriculture industry to hear their needs and concerns on how decisions in Washington impact their industry.

"Whether it's hosting farm tours, cutting bureaucratic red tape, investing in broadband for rural areas, or securing favorable trade deals for our agricultural products, I am dedicated to advocating for the agricultural interests of Virginia's Sixth District," Rep. Cline said. "From innovative flower growers to dedicated livestock farmers, our region is a hub of agricultural excellence. As I continue to work to bring the Farm Bill to the House floor, it is crucial that I hear directly from Virginia's Sixth District farmers and ensure that the federal government supports our farmers and the entire agricultural community across the Nation rather than hinder them."

Congressman Cline tours Delta Springs Farm in Mount Solon, a third-generation family farm that produces several commodities including cattle and uses innovative technologies like crop spraying drones.

Congressman Cline tours Harmony Harvest Farm in Weyers Cave, a farm that produces specialty cut flowers for nationwide shipment as well as local pickup and delivery. Harmony Harvest Farm is the only U.S. flower farm shipping fresh cut flowers nationwide.

Congressman Cline tours McNett Farms in Crimora, a first-generation farm that produces several commodities including goats for 4-H livestock shows and cattle.

Congressman Cline tours Virginia Tech's Alson H. Smith Jr. Agricultural Research and Extension Center, a research center in Winchester that serves Virginia's horticultural fruit industries with their efforts in developing tools and technologies that enhance sustainability and support our commercial producers.

Congressman Cline tours Glaize Apples in Winchester, a fourth-generation orchard in the Shenandoah Valley that distributes fresh apples locally, regionally, and nationally.

Congressman Cline tours Gore's Meats in Stephens City, a family-owned small business that has an entire wholesale operation and has helped feed families meat in the Shenandoah Valley for 60 years.

Congressman Ben Cline represents the Sixth Congressional District of Virginia. He previously was an attorney in private practice and served both as an assistant prosecutor and Member of the Virginia House of Delegates. Cline and his wife, Elizabeth, live in Botetourt County with their two children.
