Vogel Announces 11 Projects in Beaver, Butler, and Lawrence Counties will Benefit from Over $9 Million in State Grants

HARRISBURG - Sen. Elder Vogel, Jr. (R-47) today announced 11 projects in Beaver, Butler, and Lawrence counties will benefit from $9.65 million in state grant funding.

"Community revitalization and improvement project investments aid our local businesses, offices, and community centers in keeping their doors open and their services thriving to best provide for our area residents," said Vogel. "I am pleased that the 47th district continues to benefit from the grants being awarded."

The following projects are being funded with grants from the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program, which is administered by the Office of the Budget for the design, acquisition, and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational, and historical improvement projects:

Beaver County

  • Aliquippa School District received $1 million for the revitalization of the Aliquippa High School Aschman Stadium complex, specifically the completion of its Educational/Training Center, a state-of-the-art fieldhouse and academic resource center which will consist of a assembly/education space and an indoor athletic/activity space..
  • Ambridge Borough received $1.25 million for Phase 2 of the Ambridge Senior Center Project.
  • Community College of Beaver County received $750,000 for the CCBC Aviation Science Center - Beaver County Airport Project, which will transform the facility into a one-of-a-kind shared hub for aviation students and professionals, as well as $450,000 for the CCBC Golden Dome Critical Infrastructure Improvement Project.
  • Heritage Valley Health System, Inc. received $750,000 for the HVHS Beaver Surgical Stepdown Conversion Project which is focused on the construction and renovation of existing patient rooms at HVHS Beaver Hospital.
  • International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union #712 received $500,000 for the IBEW Educational Development Center Project which includes construction of a new building consisting of offices spaces, union hall/training/conference center, and associated spaces.
  • Borough of Monaca received $1.5 million for Phase 3 of the Monaca New Civic Center Project.

Butler County

  • Pittsburgh Community Rink Operating LP received $1.45 million for the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex Expansion Project.
  • Steamfiters Local 449 received $1 million for the Steamfitters Technology for Community Use Renovations.

Lawrence County

  • Sarah Heinz House received $500,000 to use for improvements to the Sarah Heinz House Camp.
  • Stonecrest Business Park, L.P. received $500,000 for Phase 2 of the Stonecrest Multi-Tenant Facility Project.
