Paige Martin Named Draught Beer Quality Subcommittee Co-Chair

Brewers Association (BA) staff is pleased to announce that the Draught Beer Quality (DBQ) Subcommittee (part of the BA's Technical Committee) has a new co-chair who will work alongside Larry Horwitz-Paige Martin of Star Republic Brewing in San Antonio, Texas.

Paige has served on the subcommittee since the start of the year and is currently an assistant brewer at Star Republic. She is also a Certified Cicerone and beer judge with a diverse professional background that includes brewing, quality management, sensory, sales, and beertending. She is passionate about beer education and community building. Paige also serves on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Subcommittee of the Texas Craft Brewers Guild and is a founding member of the San Antonio chapter of the Pink Boots Society.

After doing draught maintenance for a small brewery and their retail accounts, I realized how simple yet critical proper line cleaning practices are for beer quality. When a small brewery is fighting to prove themselves in the market, every tap counts.

Paige is looking forward to representing small breweries while serving the DBQ Subcommittee as co-chair. The addition of new leadership is a positive step forward in advancing the important and ongoing work of the subcommittee, primarily in creating draught beer-focused resources for the brewing community.
