SFO Welcomes United Airlines Nonstop Service to San José, Costa Rica

Airport's largest airline to launch first nonstop flights to capital city in May 2025

SAN FRANCISCO - October 10, 2024 - The San Francisco International Airport (SFO) celebrated an announcement today from United Airlines detailing plans to launch nonstop service from SFO to San José, Costa Rica starting May 22, 2025. The Airport's largest airline plans to offer daily year-round service, operated using Boeing 737 aircraft.

"We are thrilled to welcome nonstop United Airlines flights from SFO to San José, Costa Rica in 2025," said Airport Director Ivar C. Satero. "This announcement represents the culmination of more than five years of work by our Aviation Marketing and Development team, fulfilling a long-standing demand for nonstop flights to this destination.
