MCMINNVILLE - The McMinnville DMV, 2260 NE McDaniel Lane, is changing our service hours. Starting Dec. 2, the office will remain open during the 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. hour. To align hours of operation to be more consistent with offices of the same size and staffing, the McMinnville office will change to a 9 a.m. opening on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Effective Dec. 2, McMinnville DMV's new operational hours will be:

  • 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
  • 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Midday is a popular time for people needing to visit the DMV during the workweek. This also allows for knowledge testing to continue uninterrupted. This is the third DMV in the last month to eliminate a midday break (including Woodburn and Lebanon). It's just one of many things we're doing to meet our customers' needs.

Many transactions don't require going to a DMV office and can be done online at DMV2U. Information about temporary service impacts or closures related to staffing or weather can be viewed in real time online before planning a visit to an office.

We have hired 26 staff to work in field offices around the state exclusively for REAL ID transactions. These extra counter staff mean many more appointment slots to accommodate all customers' needs before the May 7, 2025, federal REAL ID deadline. That's the date the Transportation Safety Administration will require everyone 18 years and older to present a REAL ID-compliant state-issued driver's license, instruction permit or identification card, or another acceptable form of identification, like a U.S. passport, U.S. passport card or military ID, to board a flight within the U.S. or access certain federal facilities, such as military bases or nuclear plants.

Oregon DMV is urging you to avoid the rush and get your REAL ID sooner than later. Taking the time to get a REAL ID now will save you waiting in long lines closer to the deadline. While you cannot get your REAL ID online, once you have a REAL ID, most people can renew or replace it online in the future. Learn more at Oregon.gov/REALID.
