Mayor Simmons and Synchrony Announce $100,000 Grant to the Stamford Parks Community Partnership

STAMFORD, CT - Today, Mayor Caroline Simmons and DJ Casto, Chief Human Resources Officer at Synchrony, announced a $100,000 grant from Synchrony and the Synchrony Foundation to the Stamford Parks Community Partnership. Established in May 2024, the Stamford Parks Community Partnership is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit aimed to foster strong collaboration between the city, local businesses, and residents in developing and maintaining Stamford's parks system and recreational areas. As part of a service initiative, more than 50 Synchrony employee volunteers teamed up with city park leaders in a beach cleanup across Clove Island Park, Cummings Park, and West Beach.

Leading consumer financial services company Synchrony is the latest Stamford-based business to commit a contribution to the Partnership, ensuring that private funding is leveraged to enhance Stamford's parks for future generations.

Recognized as one of the nation's top employers and headquartered in Stamford, Synchrony recently marked a decade of impact supporting its people, serving local communities, and driving economic growth for hundreds of thousands of businesses and Americans through responsible credit access.

"We are grateful to Synchrony and the Synchrony Foundation for this generous grant of $100,000 to the Stamford Parks Community Partnership, which will benefit our city's parks and green spaces," said Mayor Caroline Simmons. "The City of Stamford is fortunate to be home to some of the leading corporations in the country and their partnership and commitment to investing in our community is invaluable as we look to equitably enhance funding for parks across our city."

"We thank Mayor Simmons and the city for their leadership to enhance public parks for families across Stamford to enjoy," said DJ Casto, Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Synchrony. "We remain committed to investing our time and talent to ensure Stamford continues to thrive."
