Jurupa Community Services District's Water Tested Positive for a Fecal Indicator
Friday, September 25, 2024 -- According to the Jurupa Community Services District, the fecal indicator E. coli was found in a water sample test on 9/25/2024. The sample was taken at the water source before disinfection, not in the distribution system. Nonetheless, the water source was removed from the system. Additional samples have been taken to verify if the indicator from 9/25/2024 was correct. Until those results are received JCSD is issuing this Drinking Water Warning, as these bacteria can make you sick and are a particular concern for people with weakened immune systems. What should I do? • DO NOT DRINK THE WATER WITHOUT BOILING IT FIRST. Bring all water to a boil, let it boil for one minute, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.
