Southeastern alumna Ann Holloway to be inducted to Oklahoma Higher Education Hall of Fame

OKLAHOMA CITY - State Regent Emeritus and Southeastern Oklahoma State University alumna Ann Holloway will be one of 10 inductees into the 2024 class of the Oklahoma Higher Education Hall of Fame, as announced by the Oklahoma Higher Education Heritage Society.

The 30th annual induction ceremony and banquet will be held on Monday, November 4, 2024, at the University of Central Oklahoma's Nigh University Center Grand Ballroom.

"Regent Emeritus Holloway is a prime example of building a legacy through higher education, not just as a student, but by constantly helping others reach their goals through education," said Southeastern President Dr. Thomas Newsom. "She has always been willing to share her story with our students about how it is never too late to better oneself through education. Her service to the students and educators of Oklahoma is remarkable, and this Hall of Fame induction is a fitting honor for such a shining light in our state."

Holloway holds a bachelor's degree from Southeastern and an associate degree from Murray State College and has long been an advocate for higher education throughout the state - especially in southern Oklahoma. Holloway lives in Ardmore, where she was involved in oil field equipment manufacturing for 25 years. She is currently a Managing Member of EAH, LLC, which focuses on real estate, and president of Holloway, Inc., which operates in Playa del Carmen and Tulum, Mexico, and focuses on real estate, including home building.

Holloway was appointed to the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education by Gov. Mary Fallin in May 2013 to fill an unexpired term. In May 2015, she was reappointed by Gov. Fallin for a nine-year term that ended in May 2024. The State Regents are the constitutional coordinating board for Oklahoma public colleges and universities, responsible for allocating state funds and setting admission standards and academic policies, among other functions.

Before being appointed to the State Regents, Holloway served a nine-year term as a regent for the Regional University System of Oklahoma. She was appointed to the Professional Responsibility Tribunal for the Oklahoma Bar Association by Gov. Frank Keating and to various boards and commissions by Gov. Henry Bellmon. She has been active in many civic and community organizations, including the Ardmore Chamber of Commerce, March of Dimes, United Way, Ardmore Little Theater, OK Jaycee Auxiliary, Committee for Small Business Owners, and the Oklahoma Department of Commerce. Holloway has also held various positions with the Oklahoma Republican Party. She has been honored among the Outstanding Young Women of Oklahoma and Who's Who of Outstanding Women in America.
