State Police in Montour Falls arrest a Hammondsport man for posse...

On February 7, 2024, the New York State Police in Montour Falls received a Cyber Tipline from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children reporting abuse material that was uploaded to a mobile messaging app.

Subsequent to an investigation, it was determined that James F. Hopkins, age 44, of Hammondsport, NY, used a mobile messaging application to view and exchange photos of child sexual abuse materials.

After several months of investigation, on September 3, 2024, Hopkins was arrested for Promoting a Sexual Performance of a Child: less than 17 years of age (D Felony) and Possession of Sexual Performance by a Child (E Felony). Hopkins was taken to Schuyler County Jail for CAP arraignment.
