Volunteer for a Board or Commission to help shape Boulder’s future

Volunteers appointed to serve on a board or commission help City Council examine issues and, in turn, work with elected officials and staff to shape the future of Boulder.

Board and Commission meetings are offered in a hybrid format allowing members the option to participate in-person or virtually. Members are also offered an EcoPass to enjoy unlimited rides on RTD trains and buses.

The following boards and commissions will be filling vacancies for 2025:

• Boulder Junction Access District - Travel Demand Management Commission
• Cannabis Licensing Advisory Board
• Design Advisory Board

• Housing Authority - Boulder Housing Partners
• Human Relations Commission
• Landmarks Board
• Open Space Board of Trustees
• Parks and Recreation Advisory Board
• Planning Board
• Police Oversight Panel - Recruitment for Student Panel Members
• Transportation Advisory Board
• University Hill Commercial Area Management Commission
• Water Resources Advisory Board

Applications will be open until Friday, Jan. 31, 2025. Many boards and commissions have unique requirements for applicants. Please see the list of requirements and vacancies on the city's website.
