Governor Polis Issues Executive Order Appointing Judges and Nominating Commissioners for the 18th and 23rd Judicial Districts

DENVER - Today, Governor Polis issued an Executive Order appointing judges to the new 23rd Judicial District (Douglas, Elbert, and Lincoln Counties), which will begin operations in January 2025. The Executive Order also appoints commissioners for new Nominating Commissions in the 18th (Arapahoe County) and 23rd Judicial Districts effective January 14, 2025.

The Executive Order makes these appointments in accordance with HB20-1026 - Create Twenty-Third Judicial District, sponsored by Representatives Kevin Van Winkle and Michael Weissman, and Senators Rhonda Fields and Bob Gardner, and Amendment D, passed by the voters in 2022.
