Senate Judiciary Committee Advances Seven Judicial Nomination To The Full Senate

WASHINGTON - Today, the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee advanced seven judicial nominations to the full Senate, continuing the Committee's work to bring balance to the federal judiciary. The nominations advanced include two circuit court nominees and five district court nominees.

"Since Democrats took back the White House and the Senate majority in January 2021, we have been committed to advancing highly qualified nominations to lifetime appointments across the federal judiciary who are reflective of the lived experiences of America. The seven nominees we voted on today are no different. The Committee will continue to restore balance to the federal courts," said U.S. Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL), Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Under the leadership of Chair Durbin, the Senate has confirmed 205 judges to lifetime appointments on the federal bench during the Biden administration. Following today's meeting, the Committee has reported 229 Article III judges to the full Senate. Now, 21 lifetime judges - including five circuit court nominees and 16 district court nominees - are eligible for a vote on the Senate floor.

The following nominations were reported by the indicated vote totals:

• Karla M. Campbell, to be a United States Circuit Judge for the Sixth Circuit: 11-10
• Julia M. Lipez, to be a United States Circuit Judge for the First Circuit: 11-10
• Mary Kathleen Costello, to be a United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania: 13-7
• Catherine Henry, to be a United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania: 11-9
• Mary Kay Lanthier, to be a United States District Judge for the District of Vermont: 13-7
• Laura Margarete Provinzino, to be a United States District Judge for the District of Minnesota: 12-8
• Noel Wise, to be a United States District Judge for the Northern District of California: 11-9
