London Biggin Hill Airport supports Scotty’s Little Soldiers as new corporate charity partner

On Armed Forces Day 2024, London Biggin Hill Airport is proud to announce Scotty's Little Soldiers as its new corporate charity partner. The partnership is the latest action taken by the airport as part of its commitment to make a positive difference in both the local community and wider society.

Scotty's Little Soldiers is a charity dedicated to supporting children and young people who have experienced the death of a parent who served in the British Armed Forces. London Biggin Hill Airport aims to be an influential supporter by providing reliable and dependable long-term funding to aid the charity's invaluable services.

David Winstanley, Chief Executive Officer at London Biggin Hill Airport and retired Wing Commander in the Royal Air Force, said:"I am immensely proud that London Biggin Hill Airport is partnering with Scotty's Little Soldiers and find myself inspired and uplifted every time I see what this incredible charity achieves. I can think of no better way to honour those that have served than to support a charity that cradles their loved ones when they are no longer there."

Nikki Scott, Scotty's Founder, said: "We've just released heartbreaking new data showing there are 2,100 newly bereaved military children and young people every year in the UK. We need to grow to meet this need. So, we are very, very thankful for this support from London Biggin Hill Airport, for recognising the impact of our work and for being one of the founding members of our Scotty's Business Heroes Club."

London Biggin Hill Airport is passionate about being a good neighbour to both our local communities and wider society. The airport has recently launched a charity charter, detailing how it works with organisations at a national and local level. Currently, London Biggin Hill's corporate charity partners are Scotty's Little Soldiers, the RAF Benevolent Fundand Aerobility. The airport also supports local charity partners and awards one-off contributions from a Community Fund that has given more than £100,000 to good causes since 2015.
