Hyattsville Man Arrested on Robbery and Attempted Murder Charges

On June 12, 2024, the Rockville City Police Department responded to the area of East Montgomery Ave. and Monroe St. for a report of a robbery that had just occurred. The preliminary investigation revealed that a female victim was assaulted and some of her property had been taken by force. Patrol officers were able to locate a juvenile suspect, who was subsequently charged with Robbery, Conspiracy to Commit Robbery, and Theft. An additional suspect remained at large.

On July 5, 2024, at 12:30 p.m., RCPD detectives observed what they believed was a robbery taking place in the area of East Montgomery Ave. and Monroe St. The detectives intervened and recognized one of the parties as the outstanding suspect from the June 12, 2024 robbery. Tajaun Curtis Grier, 20, of Hyattsville, was arrested and had been charged with Robbery, Conspiracy to Commit Robbery, and Theft in connection to the June 12 incident. Further investigation revealed that Grier was wanted for Attempted First Degree Murder, Attempted Second Degree Murder, First Degree Assault, and various handgun violations by the Prince Georges County Police Department. Grier was transported to the central processing unit where he is awaiting a bail hearing.
