Press briefing on this week’s plenary session

European Parliament's spokespersons will hold a last-minute briefing on the 13 - 14 November plenary session today at 14.30.

When: Wednesday 13 November at 14.30

Where: Anna Politkovskaya press room in Brussels and via Interactio

Key topics in this plenary include:


  • Debate with Council and Commission on EU-US relations after the election of Donald Trump as President

  • Flood tragedy in Valencia: MEPs discuss prevention and EU aid

  • Address by former Finnish President Sauli Niinistö on his report "Strengthening Europe's civil and military preparedness and readiness", followed by a debate among MEPs

  • Vote on postponing the application of the deforestation regulation

  • Debate and vote on Parliament's demands for the COP29 in Baku

  • Debate on the deplorable escalation of violence around a football match in the Netherlands and the unacceptable attacks against Israeli football fans

  • Debate on the outcome of Georgia's disputed parliamentary elections, including alleged Russian interference
