The President was briefed on elimination of aftermath of natural gas explosion in a residential building in Nizhny Tagil

Sverdlovsk Region Governor Yevgeny Kuyvashev Kuyvashev YevgenyGovernor of Sverdlovsk Regionbriefed the President by telephone on how assistance was being provided to the accident victims. He noted, in particular, that the search and rescue operation had been completed. The Governor underscored that thanks to a coordinated and highly professional work of the local and Tsentrospas rescuers they had managed to save 16 people from under the rubble.

In addition, the Governor said that the expert evaluation of the condition of the building would be completed by the end of next week, and reported on the plans to provide people with permanent housing. A working group has been set up and necessary funds have been allocated from the reserve fund.

All necessary assistance to the victims of the accident continues to be provided.

On 1 August, two building sections in a five-storey block of flats in Nizhny Tagil, Sverdlovsk Region collapsed due to a natural gas explosion.
