It’s that time of year Queensland: ‘Get Ready’ for extreme weather conditions.

"If it's flooded, forget it."

It's a phrase most Queenslanders would instantly recognise, likely after seeing it on TV screens and billboards during summer months. And it is an example of one of the impactful safety messages promoted as part of the Get Ready Queensland program.

The Get Ready Queensland program is managed by the Queensland Reconstruction Authority (QRA), the state's lead agency for disaster recovery and resilience. And since 2020, Suncorp has been the official sponsor of the program.

From 8-14 October, all Queenslanders are reminded to take steps to prepare properties against extreme weather conditions.
