City of Santa Rosa Selects Sabrina S. Wolfson as New Chief Assistant City Attorney

The City of Santa Rosa is pleased to announce the appointment of Sabrina S. Wolfson as the new Chief Assistant City Attorney, effective September 30, 2024. Wolfson brings more than 17 years of extensive experience in municipal law, offering a wealth of knowledge and expertise in areas including land use, real estate, affordable housing, public contracting, and utilities.

Wolfson joins the City of Santa Rosa from the City of Napa, where she has served in multiple capacities within the City Attorney's Office, most recently as Interim City Attorney. In this role, Wolfson managed and supervised the daily operations of the office, overseeing a $1.8 million budget, and directing the work of outside legal counsel. Wolfson provided a wide range of legal services to the City Council, Housing Authority Board, City Manager, and department heads, contributing to the successful implementation of key municipal initiatives.

Before taking on the role of Interim City Attorney in Napa, Wolfson served as Assistant City Attorney, advising on a wide range of municipal law issues. Before joining Napa, she was a Senior Associate with the law firm Meyers, Nave, Riback, Silver & Wilson, where she provided legal services to cities and special districts on various transactional and advisory matters, and served as Deputy City Attorney for the City of San Jose.

Wolfson holds a Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Seattle University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from the University of Colorado, Boulder.

As Chief Assistant City Attorney, Wolfson will play a critical role in the City's legal team, serving as the assistant department head and providing strategic legal advice to ensure that City policies are implemented in a manner that is legally defensible and in the best interest of the City.
