Condemned Person Jackson C. Daniels Jr. Dies

VACAVILLE - Condemned person Jackson C. Daniels Jr. passed away at California Medical Facility (CMF) on Friday, Aug. 16, 2024. He was 86 years old.

At 1:35 p.m., Daniels was pronounced deceased by a registered nurse in the hospice unit, who determined the initial cause of death to be natural.

Daniels was most recently sentenced by Riverside County on Jan. 31, 1984, and placed on condemned status. He was convicted of first-degree murder for killing two Riverside police officers on May 13, 1982, during an attempted arrest on Daniels for a bank robbery. Prior to this event, Daniels was received from Riverside County on May 15, 1981. He was sentenced to 13 years for robbery with the use of a firearm, assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer, and possession of a firearm as a felon with an enhancement due to his prior prison term. He was released on bail/court supervision on June 4, 1981, committed his condemned crime.
