Local Produce Link Connects Communities with Fresh Food

Local Produce Link, one of UWNYC's food & benefits access programs, is a farm-to-pantry model that connects New York family farms with food pantries to provide fresh, locally grown produce to underserved communities throughout New York City.

At St. John's Bread & Life in Brooklyn, Kathy Martinez, a Community Chef, shares how this program has introduced healthier options to her clients, changing the way they eat. By delivering seasonal vegetables and easy-to-follow recipes, Local Produce Link helps families create nutritious meals at little to no cost. Kathy has seen firsthand how this initiative empowers people to cook with fresh ingredients they may not have otherwise tried.
