NOPD Investigating Homicide in Seventh District

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred today (June 16, 2024) in the 4300 block of Stemway Drive and left one person dead.

At about 12:43 p.m., NOPD Seventh District officers responded to a call of a shooting at the location. Upon arrival, officers located a unresponsive male gunshot wound victim on scene. The victim was declared deceased on scene by EMS.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are currently available.

The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
