Lifepoint Health Elevates Two Physician Leaders to New Roles

Chris Frost, MD Assumes Expanded Role as Senior Vice President, Chief Medical Officer and Chief Quality Officer; Klaus Boel, MD to Oversee Company's Physician Enterprise as Senior Vice President, Physician Services

Brentwood, Tenn. (July 15, 2024) - Lifepoint Health®, a diversified healthcare delivery network dedicated to making communities healthier, has appointed two physician leaders to key roles for the organization.

Chris Frost, MD, is taking on an expanded leadership role as senior vice president (SVP), chief medical officer and chief quality officer, effective immediately. In addition to his current quality and clinical operations responsibilities, he will oversee the development of specific clinical- and quality-focused processes to enhance safety and ensure optimal outcomes for patients. Dr. Frost will also work to coordinate and integrate key functions - including peer review, medical staff governance, quality data and analytics, and clinical content governance - as essential infrastructure components that support the quality work of Lifepoint's medical teams and clinical staff. Additionally, he will continue to lead the quality and clinical operations team and oversee the company's National Quality Program.

Dr. Frost most recently served as SVP, chief medical officer of Lifepoint communities, and prior to this, he served the company as national medical director, hospital-based services.

Klaus Boel, MD, will take the helm of Lifepoint's physician enterprise as SVP, physician services, effective August 5. In this role, Dr. Boel will oversee the operations of Lifepoint's provider practices, leading the team that is working on continuing to enhance ambulatory care quality, patient access, provider recruitment and growth. He will also focus on the development of local provider leadership and culture.

Dr. Boel has served in a number of leadership roles at Lifepoint during his tenure. He most recently served as national medical director of ambulatory and post-acute services and will maintain his current responsibilities in addition to taking on his new role. Earlier in his time with the company, he served as Medical Director for the employed physician group at Clark Memorial Health, a former Lifepoint Health facility located in Jeffersonville, Indiana from 2008 until 2019, before becoming the chief medical officer for the hospital.

"Dr. Frost and Dr. Boel are two highly effective and quality-focused physician leaders who are committed to ensuring our patients and providers have a positive experience," said Jason Zachariah, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Lifepoint Health. "I look forward to their continued leadership and contributions to advancing our mission of making communities healthier in their new roles."
