Cisco and Tele2 IoT: Co-Innovation Broadens IoT Benefits Across Industries

For more than 10 years, Tele2 IoT and Cisco have partnered to enhance IoT connectivity management through our Cisco IoT Control Center, a cloud-based platform that simplifies device onboarding, provisioning, monitoring, and management. This collaboration provides user-friendly solutions with high data security, enabling organizations to efficiently manage IoT device connectivity from a centralized location.

Today, as businesses and industries look to accelerate revenue growth through IoT, we are pleased to expand our partnership with Tele2 IoT to develop advanced IoT solutions to meet changing business needs. Our growing partnership now includes co-development of IoT Control Center features and other Cisco Mobility Services Platform solutions that enable companies of all sizes to maximize the return on their IoT investment.

Working together to innovate for our customers

Our work with Tele2 IoT has flourished because our shared commitment to innovation delivers true business value. Real-life examples include the following:

  • Transportation sector. Our combined capabilities now power the world's first autonomous electric ferry in Stockholm, Sweden. IoT Control Center and 2CONTROL can provide invaluable insights on passenger numbers, traffic issues, and delays. This helps with long-term resource planning and gives passengers real-time status information for train, tram, boat, and bus progress, which makes the experience more predictable. This is a game-changer in the city's evolution to 100 percent emission-free ferry operations.
  • Cold chain management. Together we help pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, pharmacies, and distributors monitor and audit the storage of medicines, ensuring their effectiveness and compliance with strict temperature regulations.
  • Environmental monitoring. Even bees are benefiting from Tele2 IoT and Cisco innovations. As climate change, pesticides, and pollution threaten the survival of honeybees around the world, IoT Control Center and 2CONTROL can give beekeepers an unprecedented level of remote visibility into what is happening inside hives to better support and care for them.

Shaping the future of IoT

I'm proud of the IoT benefits we can offer to businesses with our combined efforts. With Tele2 IoT's extensive cross-industry experience, I'm confident that we can co-develop solutions for the Cisco Mobility Services Platform, shaping the future of IoT in segments like automotive, utilities, and mass-scale IoT. We can address customer requirements-such as roaming in highly regulated markets-which will make it easier for enterprises worldwide to transform and grow.

Stefan Trampus, Executive Vice President, Tele2 IoT B2B, described our decade-long partnership as "instrumental" to Tele2 IoT's growth. We are excited to advance this partnership and drive mobility innovation together.

We're also eager to build strong relationships with other forward-thinking service providers, helping them grow with our Mobility Services Platform. The future of mobility is bright, and we look forward to shaping it with you. Stay tuned for more exciting advancements.
