EDP leads in hybridisation in Spain with more than 100 MW of wind and solar power capacity

EDP, a global leader in clean energy production, has achieved a new milestone in deploying renewable energy in Spain. Through EDP Renewables, the company recently implemented its third hybrid energy project. Through these mixed solar-wind projects that use a single interconnection point, EDP reached more than 100 MW of installed power.

These investments position EDP as the only company with hybrid capacity in the country, strengthening its role as a pioneer in the sector. EDP was the first energy company to put hybrid projects in Spain and Portugal, becoming the leading company in the Iberian Peninsula. EDP also installed Poland's first hybrid park.

The three hybrid power farms operated by EDP in Spain are Cruz de Hierro (in Ávila), with a joint capacity between wind and solar power of 28.75 MW; Villacastín (Segóvia), with 28.2 MW; and Castillo de Garcimuñoz (in Cuenca), with 46.4 MW.
