Miller's Statement on Biden's Continued LNG Export Pause

December 17, 2024

Washington, D.C. - Today, Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV), Co-Chair and founder of the Energy Export Caucus, released a statement on the Biden administration's Department of Energy's (DOE) report on the continued pause of U.S. produced Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) exports.

"From his first day in office, Joe Biden has stifled American energy production, and this report is nothing more than a desperate attempt to save his failing green agenda. By claiming that exporting American energy is dangerous for the economy and the environment, the administration is undermining U.S. national security and fundamentally misunderstanding the implications of shutting down domestic energy production. The world looks to the United States for leadership and direction on energy production, and Joe Biden has forced our allies to rely on Russia, China, and Iran as energy sources. This is unacceptable.

The American people overwhelmingly voted for President Trump's agenda to reestablish American energy dominance on the world stage. No amount of bureaucracy or reports from unelected officials will stop President Trump from lifting Biden's ban on LNG export permits on his first day in office. Removing Biden's ban on LNG exports is the first step in lowering the cost of living, increasing reliability, and improving grid efficiency. Despite what the far-left will tell you, traditional energy isn't going away, and the U.S. produces it cleaner and more efficiently than anyone else in the world. As the founder of the Energy Export Caucus, I look forward to working with President Trump to unleash American energy production and make the United States safer and stronger than ever," said Congresswoman Miller.
