The popular Forest Owners' Field Day returns with topics including commercial thinning, mushroom foraging, and wildlife habitat.

Forest Owners' Field Day returns to western Washington this summer with two outdoor events for landowners interested in addressing challenges on their property, fostering healthy forests and pursue fun new projects, like maple syrup tapping and shitake mushroom production.
The Puget Sound Forest Owners' Field Day is scheduled for Saturday, July 27 in Fall City, Washington. The second Forest Owners' Field Day is scheduled for Saturday, August 10 in Longview.
During the day-long workshops, foresters and other experts and partners will give presentations on a multitude of topics, such as forest wildlife and habitat, growing forest mushrooms, fire risk reduction, and Indigenous land uses. Some youth activities are available.
These events are sponsored by Washington State University Extension Forestry, the Washington State Department of Natural Resources and several other organizations including King County, the U.S. Forest Service and Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife.
