Sheriff's Office participating in Labor Day STOP-DWI Crackdown:

The Washington County Sheriff's Office, in collaboration with other local law enforcement agencies, is actively participating in a coordinated initiative with the STOP-DWI program to heighten awareness about the dangers of impaired driving.

As Labor Day approaches, marking not only the end of summer but also one of the year's busiest travel periods, Washington County is reinforcing its commitment to safety through the STOP-DWI High Visibility Engagement Campaign. This campaign is designed to significantly decrease incidents of impaired driving.

Across New York State, law enforcement officers are intensifying their presence on the roads, dedicated to curbing impaired driving, preventing injuries, and saving lives.

While STOP-DWI initiatives have already contributed to a notable decline in alcohol and drug-related fatalities, the tragic reality remains that too many lives are still lost due to crashes involving drunk or impaired drivers. Campaigns like this, which are both highly visible and highly publicized, are crucial in our ongoing efforts to reduce these incidents.

You can play a pivotal role in this effort by always having a sober plan in place.
