Norcross Drive & Electric Infrastructure Construction Update

The Batavia Electric Department is installing underground electrical infrastructure in the roadways of Norcross Drive and Raddant Road, and in the parkway of Hart Road and Bond Drive. This project will eliminate City-owned overhead power lines that reside along the Illinois Prairie Path to improve system reliability. The City's contractor started construction at the intersection of Raddant Road and Edwards Drive and continued in the roadway north on Raddant Road. They are now working on Norcross Drive, having complete installation and restoration from Raddant Road to Davey Drive. Construction will continue in the roadway on Norcross Drive towards the west, crossing Hart Road. This phase of construction is expected to be completed by Nov. 15.

The next phase of construction will include the installation of conduits by directional boring in the parkways of Hart Road and Bond Drive. This work is anticipated to begin around Oct. 28.
