2024 National Night Out Events

DES MOINES, IOWA - On Tuesday, August 6, 2024, residents of Des Moines are invited to join millions of community members and law enforcement agencies across the nation in supporting National Night Out, a unique chance to get to know your neighbors and first responders over free food and summer activities. This will be the 35th year that the Des Moines Police Department has participated in the event.

National Night Out is an extension of our community policing efforts, and is coordinated by the Des Moines Police Department's Neighborhood Based Service Delivery (NBSD) section. We encourage interaction and cooperation between neighbors, police, fire, drug treatment, education, and prevention programs. Community collaboration is critical to effectively deal with problems related to drugs, gangs, and other quality of life issues for neighborhoods.
