Tanner and Randolph County Hosts Disaster Training Exercise on Dec. 11

On Tuesday, Dec. 11, Tanner Health, Randolph County Schools, local law enforcement, emergency medical services and other emergency responders will participate in an essential disaster training exercise.

This exercise is designed to help the hospital and local first responders prepare for emergencies, including active shooter situations, severe weather storms and other natural disasters.

The training is key to Tanner's ongoing commitment to keeping our community safe. While the exercise will simulate real-world scenarios, it is crucial to prepare our hospital teams and first responders to act quickly and effectively - while coordinating together -- in times of crisis.

The Importance of Preparation
Emergencies like active shooter incidents or severe weather events can happen without warning, and the ability to respond swiftly and in coordination with first responders is vital. This exercise allows hospital staff, local law enforcement, fire departments and emergency medical services to practice working together to ensure the best possible care for those affected.

Community members may notice increased activity around Tanner Medical Center/East Alabama and Randolph-Roanoke Career Technology Center on Dec. 11.
