On June 25, 2024, members of the Rhode Island State Police ACI Investigations Unit charged John Avarista, age 42, of last known address 15 Oregon Avenue, Cranston, Rhode Island, as a Fugitive from Justice from the State of Connecticut. Mr. Avarista was arraigned in Third District Court where he waived extradition proceedings.

On June 25, 2024, members of the HIDTA Task Force arrested Carlos Figuereo, age 23, of 670 Killingly Street 3rd Floor, Johnston, Rhode Island, for the following: 1) Possession With Intent to Deliver of a Schedule II Controlled Substance - Fentanyl; 2) Possession With Intent to Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance - Cocaine; and 3) Possession With Intent to Deliver a Schedule IV Controlled Substance - Xanax. Mr. Figuereo was processed at the Lincoln Barracks and arraigned in Sixth District Court.

On June 26, 2024, members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Thad Carman, age 32, of 2017 New London Turnpike, Coventry, Rhode Island, as an escapee from Home Confinement. Mr. Carman was taken into custody without incident and transported directly to the ACI Intake Service Center.

On June 27, 2024, members of the Financial Crimes Unit arrested Zackary Roberts, age 34, of 22 Seminole Trail, West Greenwich, Rhode Island, for the following: 1) Obtaining Money Under False Pretense; 2) Conspiracy; 3) Fraudulently Obtaining Assistance; and 4) Giving a False Document to Public Official. Mr. Roberts was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released on $15,000/personal recognizance.

On June 27, 2024, members of the Financial Crimes Unit arrested Detra Vanover, age 34, of 14 Jade Way, Newport, Rhode Island, for the following: 1) Obtaining Money Under False Pretense; 2) Conspiracy; 3) Fraudulently Obtaining Assistance; and 4) Giving a False Document to Public Official. Ms. Vanover was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released on $15,000/personal recognizance.

On June 27, 2024, members of the Financial Crimes Unit arrested Jazmine Diaz Roque, age 32, of 334 Hartford Avenue, Apartment 1, Providence, Rhode Island, for the following: 1) Obtaining Money Under False Pretense; and 2) Giving a False Document to Public Official. Ms. Roque was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released on $5,000/personal recognizance.
