Altona female arrested for Robbery 3rd

On August 2, 2024, State Police members arrested Melanie Jacobs, age 45, of Altona, NY, for Robbery 3rd.

On August 2, 2024, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Troopers responded to Devils Den Road in the town of Altona for a domestic dispute. An investigation determined Jacobs and the victim were involved in a verbal argument, which turned physical when Jacobs struck the victim in the face and forcefully stole the victim's backpack with items in it.

Jacobs was arrested and transported to SP Champlain for processing. She was arraigned in the Town of Chazy Court and released under the supervision of probation.
