Announcing 2023 CRP Prize Winners

ICGEB is extremely pleased to announce the projects awarded as the best grants for 2023 by its international review Committee.

ICGEB has been providing funding opportunities through its Grants programme for over 30 years, making strong impacts. Two annual prizes for the grants considered to be the best example of what is intended by the ICGEB CRP Research Grant programme are awarded each year. These go to the projects that best combine high quality research addressing scientific problems of particular relevance, with an excellent training component and interaction with other countries.

ICGEB CRP Grants represent a dedicated source of funding aimed at financing projects addressing original scientific problems of particular relevance for the host country and of regional interest and constitute one of the Organisation's most popular programmes, enjoying worldwide recognition amongst awardee scientists.

Principal Investigator: Dr. Sheng Cui, Institute of Pathogen Biology, Chinese Academy of medican Science, Dong, Beijing, China. CRP Grant Award for the project entitled: "Structural and functional study of Hepatitis A virus 2C protein and its role in virus replication.

Principal Investigator: Dr. Amos O. Abolaji, Drosophila Laboratory, Department of Bioechemistry (Drug Metabolis and Toxicology Unit), FBMS, College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. CRP Grant Award for the project entitled: "Unraveling the molecular therapeutic mechanisms of resveratrol rescue-driven in Drosophila melanogaster models of Parkinson's disease."
