Neighborhood concerns lead to investigation, arrests

August 22, 2024

A Boise Police investigation has led to the arrest of six suspects related to the sale and use of illegal drugs.

Following several complaints regarding one house on the 2000 block of Lemhi Street, Boise Police Neighborhood Contact Officers (NCO) began an investigation. Neighbors and officers witnessed suspicious activity often associated with the sale of narcotics including suspicious subjects making short visits to the house or staying at the house for a short time and subjects who appeared to be under the influence of drugs. During the investigation, officers obtained evidence that drugs were being used in the home and sold in the home.

The first search warrant was served in June and further investigation led to another search warrant last night, August 21, 2024. As a safety precaution for the neighbors, residents, and officers, Boise Police Department's Special Operations Unit assisted with clearing the house and the property which included the use of K9's, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (drone), and our Crisis Negotiation Team. During last night's search warrant, officers located substances that field tested positive for methamphetamine and cocaine as well as drug paraphernalia. Further investigation led to the arrest of six suspects who were booked into the Ada County Jail on the charges listed below.

"Boise Police want to thank the neighbors who were alert to suspicious behavior in their neighborhood. We appreciate the partnership we have with the community and the dedication of the Neighborhood Contact Officer Unit to investigate what was considered a neighborhood problem and ultimately make these arrests," said Boise Police Captain Mike Ruffalo.
