Beijing Strives to Launch 100 Excellent Industry-Specific LLM Products Next Year with Its 'AI+' Plan Released

On July 26, 2024, Beijing released Beijing Municipality's Action Plan to Promote "AI+" (2024-2025) (hereinafter referred to as the Action Plan). The Action Plan proposes that, by the end of 2025, Beijing will strive to form three to five advanced usable and independently controllable basic large language model (LLM) products, 100 excellent industry-specific LLM products, as well as 1,000 successful cases by implementing five globally-leading benchmark application projects, organizing ten domestically-leading demonstrative application projects, and promoting several promising commercial application results.

According to the Action Plan, Beijing will develop benchmark application projects, and implement several integrated and benchmark application projects featuring robotics, education, healthcare, culture, and transportation, to form a new ecosystem for the industrial application of LLMs. The demonstrative application projects will be centered on ten areas, including scientific research and exploration, government services, industrial intelligence, and financial management. Commercial applications will also be an important direction for Beijing to expedite the progress in "AI+".

In addition, regarding the computational power, data, capital, talent and other core elements for application and development, as well as the difficulties in key aspects, the Action Plan also outlines six measures to ensure that the application of LLMs is compliant, safe, and credible.
