TRAFFIC ALERT: I-44 Traffic Diverted Over Ramps at Exit 61 in Greene Co. at Night Aug. 26 & 27

Where: I-44 at Greene County Routes K/PP (Exit 61) west of Springfield

When: 7 p.m.-7 a.m., Monday, August 26 and Tuesday, August 27

What: Contractor crews removing forms and barriers and painting bridge girders

Traffic Impact:

• All east- and westbound I-44 lanes CLOSED at night at Routes K/PP (Exit 61)
• I-44 traffic will be diverted up and over on- and off ramps
• Drivers can expect some delays
• All I-44 lanes OPEN to traffic during daytime hours
• Routes K/PP bridge over I-44 remains CLOSED to traffic
• Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone
• Drivers encouraged to find alternate routes around the work zone
• Check MoDOT's Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts

Weather and/or construction delays could alter the work schedule.

This work is part of a project to replace or rehabilitate 25 bridges withing 15 miles of I-44 across the Southwest District.

Of the 25 bridges in the I-44 Corridor Bridge Bundle project, seven (7) are mainline I-44 bridges, five (5) are I-44 overpass bridges and the remaining bridges are on adjacent routes over various features. Sixteen (16) bridges will be replaced and nine (9) bridges will receive major rehabilitation work.
