UFCW Honors America’s Workers on Labor Day

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union (UFCW), which represents 1.2 million essential workers in grocery, meatpacking, food processing, retail, and other essential industries, released the following statement in celebration of Labor Day.

UFCW International President Marc Perrone released the following statement:

"Today, we celebrate Labor Day and the millions of workers and union members across the country who keep this nation running. The UFCW is proud to represent essential workers who help to provide working families with the food, supplies, and care they need.

"As American support of labor unions continues to grow, more workers are realizing the power they have when they stand together. This is especially important as we head into an election where workers' rights are on the ballot.

"This Labor Day, for the sake of workers everywhere, our union is committed to working hard to elect pro-labor candidates up and down the ballot. Working people are the backbone of the American economy and need elected officials who will give them the opportunity to build the better life they have earned and deserve."
